Sabine Lisicki to miss out with a knee injury

28th September 2015

The current world number 28 has been putting up with a niggling knee problem for some time now, which also goes back before the 2015 US Open, and now looks to have developed into a full blown injury.

The injury comes as a significant blow to the tennis ace, as it means that she will now be ruled out of upcoming WTA events until the end of the year.

A statement on the German tennis star’s official website read:

“Like most of you know I’ve been struggling with a knee injury before and during the US Open,” read a statement on Lisicki’s official website.

“Ever since I got back to Germany I’ve been taken care of by Dr Muller Wohlfahrt and now Klaus Eder who have tried everything in order to get me ready for the Asian swing. But unfortunately my knee is not ready and I will not compete at tournaments this season.

“I have great support from my team and we are eager to get me back on the court asap. At the latest at start of next season.”
