Everton v Liverpool | 2015 Merseyside Derby

7th February 2015

Are you enjoying the North London derby yet? It’s always a closely fought game and at the time of writing the Gunners are leading the Spurs by one goal to nil. Will they have enough firepower to keep Spurs and Harry Kane at bay at White Hart Lane? We shall definitely see!

So on to the next derby game of the weekend in the Barclays Premier League. It’s off to Goodison Park for the Merseyside Derby between Everton v Liverpool.

Everton fans will be delighted that their side have finally returned to winning ways, having beaten Crystal Palace last weekend. It’s fair to say it’s not the biggest win of their season, but possibly one of the most important at a time where their league form had hit a bit of a low. The increasing pressure on Roberto Martinez to ensure that the club get back to winning form had been starting to show.

Liverpool started the season in a similar fashion in terms of form, but the Reds also head into the game on the back of a win, having beaten Bolton in the F.A. Cup, keeping Steven Gerrard’s dream of leaving Anfield with a winners medal this season, very much alive.

Brendan Rodgers has also given the Anfield faithful a few other reasons to be hopeful at this point in the season, as interestingly Liverpool have only suffered one 90 minute defeat in their last 18 matches.

We’re anticipated another closely fought game here, and as we stated in our Week 24 Betting preview, we’re expecting a 0-1 win to the boys of Anfield.
