Barcelona v Man City | 2014/15 Champions League Preview

18th March 2015

It’s currently not looking great for English clubs in the Champions League, with both Chelsea and Arsenal out, and looking like a possible following from Man City too after the previous defeat at the hands of an in-form Luis Suarez at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Manchester City will be looking to start this one with all guns blazing, and will need to do so to stand any chance against this Barcelona side. City head into this one on the back of a defeat to a much lesser side, Burnley in the Premier League which seemed to shake them some-what. Their league form has dipped and are not looking likely to catch league leaders Chelsea, and now also risk losing second place to Arsenal who are now just one point behind.

Barcelona on the other hand are enjoying their football at the moment, and although only by a one point margin, are nevertheless at the top of the La Liga table. They head into this one following a convincing 0-2 away win at Eibar at the weekend.
Man City trail by a 2-1 deficit, so are still very much in this tie still – although this is Barcelona that they face… not a mediocre league side.

We’re expecting a lot of goals to come out of this one, and especially from the last 20 minutes of the game. Predicting the score looks to be a tough call, and we’d look to opt for 2-2. This would of course see Barca through to the Semi’s, and we feel this is exactly what will happen this evening.
